I agree with Frederick Bott (one of the commenters here):

"This isn't actually about liberty for Iranian girls, it is about chaos for Iran"

and

"is it right that an external government should impose its will instead?"

Your choice to focus on this may just be jumping on the anti-Iranian bandwagon to get claps. Americans should focus on criticizing their society, for the most part, because the US is an empire and these sort of articles are encouraged in the US media to maintain support for or to muddle the opposition to covert or overt exploitation and oppression throughout the world.

If you want to do something, go demand things from your government ... to the level of actions like those Iranian women you mention and at the cost they're paying before you start talking about affairs of others elsewhere in the world. Your inaction, lack of criticism and (most importantly) contribution in funding your Department of War (through taxes) which is almost half of what is spent worldwide, disqualifies you from making an opinion about strife elsewhere. You are contributing to suffering, death and destruction more than any 'mullah' anywhere or at any time. Remove your big 'mullahs' from your country before trying to remove the little 'mullahs' elsewhere.
