I never thought about it that way having been born in a Christian family but I can see your point now that you point it out. It is quite obnoxious and adds quite a lot of insult to the very real historic injury!
On the other hand, being a stickler for details on silly matters seems, well, silly. For example, Christians claim Jesus was both man and God and that there is one God in spite of the trinity. Pointing this out, which is true from the point of view of language and logic, is like discussing the weight of Thor’s hammer. Once something is silly, discussing the details becomes purely for entertainment. Of course, I like to discuss ‘Harry Potter’ minutiae with my son but it’s pure entertainment and bonding. Discussing it seriously would feel strange.
