No amount of 'good' leaders can counter a bad system. They will either be co-opted, corrupted or rendered harmless. People respond to incentives, including leaders. We need to change the system and the rest will follow.

What system to go to and how to go from this system to the next are the big questions. There are a range of systems in the world. Socialist countries like Denmark, Finland and others seem to have the happiest and most socially adjusted populations. That can be a starting point and a rally call: "We want to be happy like Finland".

Above all, inequality limits must be set. No one should make more than, say 4 times, the poorest person in the country. Since the mean personal income in the US is about $80,000 dollars, the lowest family income in the US would become around $200,000 to $250,000 to allow for the factor 4 mentioned. In fact, the median (let alone minimum) family income in the US is about $70,000. That is the price of having billionaires!
