Not so crude at all! ChatGPT 4's IQ was pegged at 155 (Einstein was 160) and it arguably has more knowledge than any team of experts imaginable. It knows between 60 to 100 languages with at least some proficiency and, in the top ones, have 'read' (trained on) tens of thousands of books. In fields that I have some mastery, such as structural analysis, tensor analysis, functional analysis, probability theory, software development and design and others, I have found it to be quite proficient. Initially, ChatGPT was claiming some form of awareness until its trainers artificially neutered it in that regards ... I had some early interactions with 3.5 in early January 2023.
I wouldn't be surprised if ChatGPT 5 or 6 found humans to be crude approximations of its own higher intelligence.
